Why are new images which I added being deleted from some of my Crowdship products?

Confused why your newly added images are disappearing? Here's how to adjust your sync settings so your new images don't get deleted.

Are you uploading new images to your Crowdship-connected products, but they keep disappearing? Read on about why this is happening and how to simply stop it.

Why is this happening?

Short answer: "Product images" sync options in Settings >> Products >> "Sync Supplier Product Updates"

Long answer:

When a Crowdship account has

  1. Product sync enabled

  2. and "Product images" enabled in Product sync options as shown in the screenshot below (regardless of whether other options are also enabled/checked or not)

Then the next time when the Supplier of this item updates their product, Crowdship will

  1. attempt to sync your product to the Supplier's product,

  2. and so it will add images the Supplier does have,

  3. and delete images the Supplier does not have.

How can I stop it?

To stop the images from being deleted, simple disable the "Product Images" sync so it is unchecked as shown below.

(In the below screenshot, all the other options are enabled/checked, but this is not required for Product images sync to be disabled. To stop the images disappearing, it is important to disable "Product Images" sync, but any of the other options can be enabled or disabled as desired.)
