Fine tune your order processing workflow with Shopify

Updated over a week ago

When you integrate Crowdship with your Shopify store, you can choose how certain events are handled automatically.

Orders

Order processing methods

Choose what Crowdship should use as the trigger to import and process an order.

By default, Crowdship will import an order once it's Shopify Payment status is updated to “Paid”.

Alternatively, you can choose to manually trigger order imports by pressing the "Request Fulfillment" button from the Shopify order admin page.

We recommend the first option, as automatically syncing orders will enable a fully automated workflow.

*To avoid processing fraudulent orders, we recommend using a fraud prevention app such as NoFraud. You'll need to configure whichever fraud prevention all you use to capture order payments only once an order has been verified. When you combine this with Option 1, Crowdship will automatically process orders which are approved, and ignore orders whose payments aren't captured.

Order Cancellations:

  1. Retailer initiated cancellations:

    1. Cancel in Shopify:

When you cancel an order or a line item in Shopify, Crowdship automatically submits a cancellation request to the supplier(s) assigned to fulfill the affected item(s). You can view the status of the cancellation request from the order and purchase order details page in Crowdship.

    2. Cancel in Crowdship:

When you cancel an order or line item in Crowdship, a cancellation request will be sent to the supplier(s) assigned to fulfill the affected item(s). You can view the status of the cancellation request from the order and purchase order details page in Crowdship.

The order or line items will not be cancelled in Shopify until the supplier accepts the cancellation request, and only as per your settings below.

  2. When your order cancellation request is approved by a supplier:

    1. Automatically cancel the line items in my customer sales order and issue refunds for the cancelled items (default).

    3. Do not automatically refund or cancel line items.
